The Association of Research Libraries (ARL) and the ACRL Institute on Scholarly Communication have announced that the early-bird registration deadline has been extended for the ARL-ACRL Institute on Scholarly Communication (ISC) workshop, 'Increasing the Effectiveness of Your Scholarly Communication Program: Strategic Skills for Success,' to be held from April 9–10, 2013, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Interested parties may now register by November 30, 2012, at the discounted rate of $175 per person. The rate will increase to $225 from December 1.
The workshop, led by expert facilitators Melanie Hawks and Paul Meyer, will emphasise active learning and hands-on work by participants, both individually and in groups. Throughout the workshop, participants will have structured opportunities to reflect on how to apply what they are learning to strategic planning within their own institution, to share information and test ideas with other workshop participants, and to begin developing skills to influence campus colleagues.
Registration for the ARL-ACRL Institute on Scholarly Communication workshop is coordinated by ARL and is a separate process from registration for the ACRL 2013 Conference or its pre-conferences. Registration will close on January 31, 2013, unless the workshop fills earlier.
