Events organiser Reed Exhibitions has announced the appointment of Jacks Thomas as Senior Exhibition Director, The London Book Fair. Thomas is currently joint CEO of Midas Public Relations.
The appointment of Thomas, who has over twenty years experience within the UK and international book industries, reflects Reed Exhibitions' commitment to the ongoing development of the Fair as the leading marketplace for one of the world's most creative industries at a time of transition and transformation.
As a partner for eight years at Midas PR, an agency that specialises in the creative industries, Thomas has led the teams responsible for the Booksellers' Association, Publishing Technology, Terry Pratchett's Narrativia and the Sharjah International Book Fair among others. She has also led the team supporting the London Book Fair for six years, defining the communications strategy around the move to Earls Court and the largest ever Market Focus programme, China 2012.
The London Book Fair is a unique opportunity to explore, understand and capitalise on the innovations shaping the publishing world of the future. The London Book Fair 2013, the 42nd Fair, will take place from April 15-17, 2013, Earls Court, London. Turkey is Market Focus country in 2013, following China in 2012. Thomas takes up her new role in mid-January 2013.
