The Hot Spots and SPARKS Stages at this year's Frankfurt Book Fair are expected to see a lot of activity in the arena of digital content. Optimal preparation of content, digital distribution channels, development of new formats - several decisions have to be made before an e-book or an app can be downloaded by consumers. The latest trends will be presented - and even started - at the Frankfurt Book Fair, which is observed to be the leading international showcase for digital publishing. The six Hot Spots focused on Digital Relations, Education, Kids & Comics, Mobile & Devices, Professional & Scientific Information and Publishing Services are said to provide the right setting for technological innovation.
The Hot Spots are projected as a gathering point for those who are driving digitisation, and the Hot Spot Stages seek to serve as their platform for introducing new products. At the Hot Spot Digital Relations, Chinese media house Shanda will present its subsidiary Cloudary Corporation, the largest e-book provider in China with around 5 million titles. At the Hot Spot Publishing Services, Hewlett Packard will highlight its services for web-to-print publishing, personalised illustrated books and content distribution across various channels. On trade visitor days, the B.I.T. sofa will bring together digital experts at the Hot Spot Professional & Scientific Information.
The Hot Spot Stages are open to all Frankfurt Book Fair exhibitors that would like to utilise the setting for presentations and events. Exhibitors looking for a larger platform can reserve a slot at one of the SPARKS Stages in Hall 4.2 or 8. The SPARKS Stages offer exclusive professional programmes, discussions, interviews and product launches dealing with new technologies and innovation.
The Frankfurt Hot Spots are six collective stands organised by theme with plug & play options. In addition to an exhibition area, each Hot Spot features a small stage and a lounge area.
The Hot Spot Professional & Scientific Information (Hall 4.2) offers a platform for content and service providers from the fields of specialised information, the sciences and libraries. The Hot Spot Publishing Services (Hall 4.0) brings together service providers from the print and digital sectors. The Hot Spot Mobile & Devices (Hall 8) presents the full spectrum of mobile technology - from tablets, e-readers and apps to network providers and licensors in the field of content.
The Hot Spot Digital Relations (Hall 6.1) centres on products and solutions that connect users with content - from self-publishing and online PR to social media platforms and e-marketing. The Hot Spot Education (Hall 4.2) revolves around innovative teaching and learning materials, serious games and educational games, digital whiteboards, educational software and e-learning models. The Hot Spot Kids & Comics (Hall 3.0) is focused on how to attract one of the most challenging and dynamic target audiences - children and young adults 16 and under.
