Annual Reviews, the non-profit publisher that synthesises critical research literature, has announced the appointment of Dr. Mark Fitzsimmons as Associate Editor-in-Chief. The role is a new addition to the publisher's executive management team.
Annual Reviews' core goal is to accelerate researchers' and students' ability to find and assimilate the knowledge that will drive continued advances. Now publishing comprehensive reviews in 44 disciplines, creating this new position reflects Annual Reviews' on-going commitment to advancing the scientific discourse.
Dr. Mark Fitzsimmons joins Annual Reviews from the MacArthur Foundation, where he served as Associate Director of the MacArthur Fellows Program. He served two terms as a member on the Board on Life Sciences of the National Research Council (2006-2012). Prior to joining the MacArthur Foundation in 1996, Dr. Fitzsimmons served on the faculty in the Department of Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.
