Disability and Health Journal accepted for coverage by Thomson Reuters and MEDLINE -

The American Association on Health and Disability has announced that its official publication, Disability and Health Journal, published by Elsevier, has been accepted for coverage by multiple Thomson Reuters abstracting and indexing services, including Journal Citation Reports, as well as by the National Library of Medicine's MEDLINE.

Under the guidance of Editors Dr Suzanne McDermott and Dr. Margaret A. Turk, along with an eminent Editorial Board, this peer-reviewed, multidisciplinary publication features original contributions that advance knowledge in disability and health. The primary focus is on public health, health promotion, health education, wellness and prevention, reducing the incidence of secondary conditions and medical conditions.

MEDLINE abstracting and indexing will be retroactive to Volume 1:1 (2008). MEDLINE is the U.S. National Library of Medicine's premier bibliographic database containing over 18 million references to journal articles in medicine and the life sciences.

Abstracting and indexing by Thomson Reuters will also begin with Volume 1:1 (2008) and will appear in Science Citation Index Expanded (SciSearch), Journal Citation Reports/Science Edition, Social Sciences Citation Index, Journal Citation Reports/Social Sciences Edition, Current Contents/Social and Behavioral Sciences, and Current Contents/Clinical Medicine. The Impact Factor, issued by Thomson Reuters, is seen to be a widely accepted indicator of a journal's significance within its field.
