Expert Publishing (ExPub), a division of EBSCO Publishing, has announced that it is expanding its collection of chemical hazard data with the addition of The Teratogen Information System (TERIS) and Shepard’s Catalog of Teratogenic Agents. ExPub is the provider of up-to-date, decision-support chemical information for the global environmental health & safety (EH&S) community.
ExPub databases provide access to millions of documents containing comprehensive human and/or environmental hazard data needed to manage the impact of chemicals in the workplace or on the environment.
Designed to assist physicians or other health and safety professionals, TERIS helps assess the risks of possible teratogenic exposures in pregnant women. The database consists of a series of agent summaries, each of which is based on a thorough review of published clinical and experimental literature. Each summary includes a risk assessment derived by consensus of an Advisory Board comprising nationally-recognised authorities in clinical teratology.
Shepard’s Catalog of Teratogenic Agents is an essential database for geneticists, teratologists, pharmacologists, and other health and safety professionals. It presents information on more than 3,200 teratogenic agents, covering pharmaceuticals, chemicals, environmental pollutants, food additives, household products, viruses, genes, and maternal conditions.
These two collections are being added to ExPub’s ReproEXPERT and Chemical Hazard Information Library (CHIL) databases. ReproEXPERT provides human reproductive risk data for EH&S professionals responsible for managing reproductive hazards in the workplace. CHIL on EBSCOhost is the premier academic resource for up-to-date toxicology and chemical hazard information.
