STM publisher Elsevier, Netherlands, has announced that the Netter's Anatomy Atlas App for iPad is now available on the App Store. Based on the world-renowned medical artwork of Dr. Frank H. Netter, full-colour anatomic illustrations allow users to personalise their atlas of over 500 illustrated plates so that they can focus on the need-to-know anatomy specific to a course or area of specialty and interest.
Features of the App include the ability to tap Muscle Info buttons to review attachments, innervations, actions, and blood supply; label quizzes to test memory of terminology; a set of 50 anatomy questions from USMLEConsult.com to help prep for boards; customisation of individual labels with on, off, and highlight settings; 'My Netter' bookmark and notes to organise and personalise studies; enhanced suite of quizzing and customisation features to create an intuitive study guide; and quick navigation of the illustration database by Searching (keyword or plate number), Browsing by Region or System, or Jumping to Related Plates to see alternate views.
A video demo of the App can be viewed at www.us.elsevierhealth.com/NettersAnatomyAtlasApp. Additionally, a free preview version of the App containing a 10-Plate sample from the 5th edition Atlas of Human Anatomy is available for download from the App Store on iPad or at www.itunes.com/appstore.
