McGraw-Hill Education launches new title, 'Managerial Accounting' -

Education materials publisher McGraw-Hill Education, US, has released a new title, Managerial Accounting by Stacey Whitecotton, Robert Libby and Fred Phillips. The title is projected to present accounting in the context of real and recognisable companies like Starbucks, Mattel and Tombstone Pizza. By showing students how accounting is tied to business decisions in companies that are a part of their everyday lives, Managerial Accounting seeks to engage them and help them connect what they learn in the course to the real world.

Offered with a range of digital resources, including the McGraw-Hill Connect teaching and learning platform, Managerial Accounting is expected to give teachers the support they need and prepare students for 21st century business careers. Each chapter focuses on a recognisable business and uses the company's decisions and outcomes to convey managerial accounting principles. Providing such a real-world context is seen to give students a familiar framework they can relate to and diminishes the anxiety that many students bring to accounting courses.

Managerial Accounting is offered with Connect Accounting, a research-based, interactive assignment and assessment platform that allows instructors to create and deliver online, auto-graded homework assignments, quizzes and tests. The online platform is based on McGraw-Hill's ongoing research of professors' instructional processes and students' study habits. Students using Managerial Accounting can study on the go by downloading audio and video content directly to their iPod or iPhone and take learning materials with them wherever they go.
