BMJ Group Board names Dr Arvind Singh as non-executive director -

The Board of the BMJ Group has announced that Dr Arvind Singh has been appointed a non-executive director.

Dr Singh is consultant ophthalmic surgeon in vitreoretinal services with the Ayrshire and Arran Acute NHS Trust in Ayr, Scotland, where he has worked for the last 13 years including holding the post of Clinical Director, Ophthalmology. He was previously Director of the Ophthalmology Programme at the HCI International Medical Centre in Clydebank Glasgow.

Dr Singh served for 8 years on the committee on the Safety of Devices at the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency.

The BMJ Group recently signed a wide ranging agreement with the Apollo Hospitals Group, the largest in India with over 41 hospitals and additional specialist clinics, to distribute training and education to doctors throughout India as well as providing decision support tools for use at the point of care. The BMJ Group is also working with a subsidiary of Apollo Hospitals, Health Net Global, to provide patient information over 3G mobile networks and has established offices in Delhi and Mumbai.
