STM publisher Elsevier Australia has announced the launch of the first app in its Clinical Cases app series 'Clinical Cases – Fundamentals of Nursing'. This nursing app is purpose-designed for self-testing and easy revision.
The complete 'Clinical Cases – Fundamentals of Nursing' app features 24 progressive case studies with integrated multiple-choice questions and answer rationales; 150 flash cards to test nurses on key nursing definitions; timed word games; and a medical glossary.
The initial download, includes two detailed nursing case studies, flash cards, word puzzles and a glossary. Nurses can then pick and choose from the remaining case studies, selecting the ones that best suit their needs. They can buy the remaining 22 case studies at once, buy them one at a time, or purchase themed sets of two, such as Adolescent Mental Health and Mental Health 1 & 2 or Acute Care 1 & 2.
To further enhance their learning experience, nurses can use the app in conjunction with Elsevier Australia's bestselling nursing textbook, Potter and Perry's Fundamentals of Nursing, 4th ANZ Edition by Jackie Crisp, Catherine Taylor, Clint Douglas and Geraldine Rebeiro, and the accompanying Clinical Skills Workbook, 2nd Edition by Geraldine Rebeiro, Leanne Jack and app authors Natashia Scully and Damian Wilson.
The app is compatible with Apple iPhone (optimised for iPhone 5), iPod touch and iPad and will soon also be available for android devices via Google Play.
