STM publisher Elsevier, Netherlands, has announced that the 9th Pangborn Sensory Science Symposium will take place in Kyoto, Japan, from September 4-8, 2011.
Pangborn claims to be the most prestigious conference within the field of sensory science. It is the only meeting that allows sensory science practitioners to discover, discuss and develop the latest in fundamental and applied sensory science. The last symposium reported attracted 1000 delegates.
The Scientific Committee composed of acknowledged opinion leaders in sensory science from across the spectrum of research areas will work alongside organisers from Elsevier to develop a multidisciplinary programme, covering areas such as fundamentals of sensory perception, consumer research, sensometrics, sensory analysis and quality assurance.
Topics that will be covered at the 9th Pangborn Sensory Science Symposium include fundamentals of sensory perception; effective use of sensory analysis / quality assurance; multi-modal sensory analysis and integration across modalities; sensometrics; new methods for consumer research; food choice and consumer behaviour; cross-cultural sensory and consumer research; sensory and consumer research of personal and home-care products; sensory properties for health and wellness; sensory perception and human behaviour in children and the elderly; advances in sensory methodology; and sensory science and challenging products.
