SirsiDynix announces 3.4 release of SirsiDynix Symphony integrated library system -

Library automation solutions provider SirsiDynix, US, has announced the 3.4 release of the company's flagship SirsiDynix Symphony integrated library system. SirsiDynix Symphony features state-of-the-art modules for all the functionality a library needs. Version 3.4 further illustrates SirsiDynix's commitment to libraries with efficiency-improving features for helping libraries do more with less during a tight fiscal year.

Library Connection, a cooperative of 27 public and academic libraries in Connecticut, was the first beta site to go live with the release. The improved functionality and enhancements included in Symphony 3.4 are: workflow efficiencies, including improved searching, editing and batch processing within the library staff interface; consortia support and flexibility policies, which enable deeper customisation of processes, accounts and more - among multiple library branches, or across a multi-system consortium; and library services including wireless access authentication for library users, via the SIP Aruba wireless network integration.

Additionally, reporting tools and organisation help libraries better collect, manipulate, organise and share the data that is crucial to their existence and funding. This includes a new built-in feature that enables libraries to show patrons how much money they saved by checking out books at the local library that day.
