The finalists for the 2013 Bioanalysis Young Investigator Award have been announced and the public vote is now open. Each year, Bioanalysis and Bioanalysis Zone run the Young Investigator Award to identify and reward promising early-career researchers in the bioanalytical community. This year 18 scientists were nominated for the Award.
The Bioanalysis editorial team and Senior Editors have now reviewed all the nominations and selected five finalists - Andris Jankevics (Manchester University, UK); Justo Giner Martinez-Sierra (University Of Oviedo, Spain); Anthony O'Donoghue (University of California, USA); Long Yuan (Bristol-Myers Squibb, USA); and Wanlong Zhou (FDA, USA).
To help choose the overall winner, there will be a public vote at http://www.bioanalysis-zone.com/articles/2013_bioanalysisyounginvestigatoraward (closing August 31).
This year saw a record number of nominations, and the standard of applications was very high. The five finalists were chosen based on the strength of their research, with the Bioanalysis Senior Editors particularly impressed with the quality and variety of work described.
In addition to a year's subscription to Bioanalysis and a feature on Bioanalysis Zone, the winner will receive a US$1000 prize, provided by Award sponsors Waters.
