E-books and research technology provider ebrary, US, has announced the availability of its 2011 Starter Packs to help simplify the e-book selection process. With 25 new packages of perpetual archive (purchase) titles in high-use subject areas, Starter Packs claim to provide an ideal way for libraries to get started with e-books or supplement other ebrary products including Academic Complete with DASH!.
The new packages have been developed based on feedback from the library community. This year the company has added titles on Child Development, Aging & Geriatrics, and Globalization.
ebrary's Starter Packs contain approximately 40 current titles that are not available in ebrary's subscription products or Starter Packs from previous years. Librarians and other information professionals may purchase Starter Packs in their entirety at a discount, or use them as selection tools for acquiring individual e-books from publishers such as Elsevier, McGraw-Hill, Oxford University Press, and Taylor & Francis. Additionally, Starter Packs can be seamlessly integrated with e-books acquired under any ebrary model including subscription, perpetual archive (purchase), and Patron Driven Acquisition (PDA), and include rich features and functionality that help end-users conduct research easily and effectively.
