Kenneth Blum named Editor-in-Chief of OMICS Group's OA medical journal Addiction Research & Therapy -

OMICS Group Incorporation, a scientific organisation that drives the progress of research through scholarly open access journals, has announced the appointment of Dr. Kenneth Blum from Department of Psychiatry, University of Florida, USA as Editor-in-Chief for the scholarly open-access Journal of Addiction Research and Therapy (JART). Dr. Kenneth has been rendering services as one of the editors of this open access journal and is promoted to this highest position.

Dr. Kenneth Blum is currently Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Scientific Officer of Synaptamine Inc. Austin, Texas and Managing Partner of IGENE, LLC, Austin, Texas. He was formerly Fulltime Professor of Pharmacology at University of Texas, and was at San Antonio, Texas for 23 years (retired). He coined the term "Brain Reward Cascade and Reward Deficiency Syndrome (RDS)." Considered as the father of Psychiatric Genetics (lead author in JAMA on the discovery of the first genetic association for severe alcoholism) and Nutrigenomic Amino-Acid Therapy (NAAT), Dr. Blum holds both US & foreign patents on Nutrigenomics.

An open access peer-reviewed medical journal, the Journal of Addiction Research and Therapy (JART) provides a comprehensive overview of aspects of physiological, biochemical, genetic and behavioural pathways underlying addiction, focusing on a spectrum of related CNS disorders and novel therapies. It provides an unprecedented overview of complex issues in this field with a high societal significance with an internal impact factor of 1.33* and an Index Copernicus Value of 5.63.
