Dr. Jillian M. Buriak named new Editor-in-Chief of Chemistry of Materials -

The American Chemical Society (ACS) has announced that Dr. Jillian M. Buriak will assume the role of Editor-in-Chief of Chemistry of Materials in January 2014. Buriak, who currently serves as Associate Editor for ACS Nano, is Professor, Canada Research Chair in Inorganic and Nanoscale Materials, and Senior Research Officer of the National Institute for Nanotechnology at the University of Alberta, Canada.

Buriak will succeed Editor-in-Chief Dr. Leonard V. Interrante, who is the founding Editor-in-Chief of Chemistry of Materials. Dr. Interrante, who has served in this position since 1989, will retire from the journal at the end of 2013.

Chemistry of Materials is devoted to the publication of original contributions on forefront, fundamental research at the interface of chemistry, chemical engineering and materials science. Both theoretical and experimental studies that focus on the preparation or understanding of materials with unusual or useful properties are relevant. A long-time leader in its field, Chemistry of Materials received 74,651 total citations and an Impact Factor of 8.238 in the 2013 release of the Journal Citations Reports from Thomson Reuters.
