MarkLogic customers Elsevier and ngmoco to speak at NoSQL event -

Data analytics products firm MarkLogic Corporation, US, has announced that customers Elsevier and ngmoco:) will be speaking at the inaugural NoSQL Now! Conference, scheduled for August 23-25, 2011 in San Jose, California.

The NoSQL movement is seen to be driven by the need for companies to go beyond traditional relational databases. As unstructured information continues to grow and drives Big Data, companies are learning that relational systems can't give them the insight that they need from today's new types of information. As a non-relational technology, MarkLogic seeks to enable organisations to make decisions in real time with Big Data.

Bradley Allen, vice president of Elsevier Labs, will lead a case study, showing how Elsevier has used MarkLogic in the development of a range of information access and discovery solutions for its customers. This presentation will cover Elsevier's experience with XML-centric content management systems in general. Then Allen will specifically explain Elsevier's initial adoption of MarkLogic's technology, its current use within its online products and solutions, and opportunities for future use.

Dave Grijalva, lead engineer and architect at ngmoco:), will discuss challenges and considerations associated with selecting the right NoSQL solution for technical projects. The session will include a look at the NoSQL technologies ngmoco:) is using, including MarkLogic.
