ASA 2011 annual conference scheduled for February 21 -

The Association of Subscription Agents & Intermediaries (ASA) has announced that the 2011 ASA Conference will be held in London from February 21-22, 2011. Entitled 'Recession is the Mother of Invention', the conference will feature twenty high calibre speakers and the hottest topics from the publishing, intermediary, library, consortia and research and research-funding sectors.

The ASA Conference is projected as a 'must attend' event for senior colleagues across the scholarly and professional information sector. Topics for 2011 include Early reports of the death of the subscription; New models for eBook and eJournal access and acquisition; Strategies for increasing access to research information; The new reality of library-publisher negotiations; The latest on research communication, libraries and funding in India and China; The future of research communication; What e-only means for publishers, intermediaries, libraries and their patrons; Publishing technology for Generation Next; and more.

Booking is now available via the ASA website at http://www.subscription-agents.org/conferences2011. The ASA is also offering a special rate for librarians working in academic/not-for-profit organisations. Those booking before January 22 will obtain an early-bird discount.
