UBM TechWeb's InformationWeek Government, a media brand focused on serving government IT professionals, has announced that Federal CIO Vivek Kundra will be a keynote speaker at the 2011 Government IT Leadership Forum. The event is expected to bring together chief information officers, chief technology officers and other technology decision makers in federal, state and local government.

InformationWeek's Government IT Leadership Forum will be held on May 5, 2011, at the Newseum in Washington, DC. Senior IT professionals in the US government will come together at the day-long event to discuss how they're using technology to drive change within their agencies. Prominent CIOs from civilian, defense, and intelligence agencies will engage an audience of their peers in an open discussion of IT project management, cybersecurity, open government, cloud computing, and more.

New in 2011 is a first-of-its-kind panel session where federal CIO Vivek Kundra will engage CIOs from the private sector in a far-ranging discussion of best and next practices in driving innovation, efficiency, and performance in their organisations. Kundra will be joined by Rob Carter, CIO of FedEx; Dave Bent, CIO of United Stationers; and Peter J. Whatnell, CIO of Sunoco.

Event registration is open to CIOs, CTOs and other government IT professionals.
