Wiley-Blackwell, the STM and scholarly publishing business of John Wiley & Sons, Inc., US, and the British Academy have created a major new prize for an outstanding contribution to economics.
The new British Academy-Wiley Prize in Economics, worth £5,000, will be awarded annually in recognition of excellence in economics, including economic history, by an early career researcher. The first prize will be made in 2012, with a call for nominations in autumn 2011.
The British Academy's President, Sir Adam Roberts, announced the new initiative at the Academy's annual Medals and Prizes ceremony on October 6, 2011.
