Frankfurt Academy to hold conference on metadata strategies -

The Frankfurt Book Fair will host its first conference devoted purely to metadata - MetaData Perspectives 2011 - on October 13 as part of its new 'mind network', the Frankfurt Academy.

In a world where millions of new titles are published each year, it is difficult for readers to find specific books. Bad metadata can quickly relegate books to the dustbin of digital history, it is feared. Data strategies are therefore becoming more and more important as a way of securing the success of digital products. In the new half-day event, industry experts will guide the participants through the process of creating appropriate metadata in a series of short and practical sessions, and show them how to use it to create sales for their business.

The Frankfurt Book Fair is cooperating with the international publishing magazine, Publishing Perspectives, to host Metadata Perspectives 2011. To register and find more information, visit www.book-fair.com/metadata or www.book-fair.com/academy.

Metadata Perspectives 2011 is part of the Frankfurt Academy, which seeks to bring together the Book Fair's best international conferences, seminars and publishers' trips under a single umbrella, all year round. Frankfurt Academy is the conference brand of the Frankfurt Book Fair in association with the German Publishers & Booksellers Association.
