Academic publisher Maney Publishing, UK, has announced that Nick Johnson, Chief Executive at the Social Care Association (SCA), has been appointed as the new Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Care Services Management (JCSM).
Johnson has previously served as a guest editor, and held a position on the JCSM editorial board. He has had considerable involvement in the SCA for many years in an honorary capacity and has represented the Association as a Governor of the National Institute for Social Work. He has also undertaken work on behalf of the Residential Forum and the All Party Parliamentary Group on the Personal Social Services. He writes and speaks widely on the topic of social care with a particular focus on people who work in care services and best practice issues.
The Journal of Care Services Management is an international peer-reviewed journal serving all those directly involved in, or concerned with, the organisation, delivery, and management of care services, at a strategic and operational level. In recognition of the increasing emphasis being placed both on person-centred care and on integration of care service organisation and delivery, the journal's scope addresses issues of concern to service commissioners and care service providers - whether in the statutory, voluntary or commercial sectors. It seeks to cover management of the full range of care services including care and nursing homes, extra care and supported housing, respite care and domiciliary care.
