The Optical Society (OSA) has announced that Stewart Wills has joined the organisation as the new editor and content director for its monthly news magazine, Optics & Photonics News (OPN). Wills will be wholly responsible for the society's magazine portfolio and will oversee its editorial strategy, content, artistic direction and production.
Before joining OSA, Wills was the editorial director of web and new media at Science magazine. There he implemented a highly successful weekly podcast, new video initiatives, and the journal's first entry in social media channels. Prior to joining Science, Wills was a freelance writer and editor as well as a securities analyst. He currently produces podcasts and a microblog for the Society for Scholarly Publishing's The Scholarly Kitchen.
