Wolters Kluwer Health, a global provider of information for healthcare professionals and students, is hosting a complimentary webinar with Linda Greene, RN, MPS, CIC in 'Antimicrobial Stewardship: Infection Prevention's Role.'
Antimicrobial stewardship (AS) programs – multidisciplinary efforts to measure and optimise the use of antimicrobials – are key to helping healthcare organisations reduce the risk of acquiring multidrug-resistant organisms (MDROs) and C.difficile. A robust AS program requires a team approach. The infection preventionist (IP) is pivotal to a well-functioning team. Because IPs are often the first to identify a problem and have a broad perspective on the prevalence and incidence of drug resistant organisms, C.difficile, and other healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) within the organisation, their contribution to the program cannot be underestimated.
Greene will describe the IP's role in an antimicrobial stewardship program and methods in which he/she can enhance the multidisciplinary program.
The webinar is scheduled for February 26, 2014, from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM ET. Interested may register for the webinar by visiting www.pharmacyonesource.com/webinars.
