The Association of Research Libraries (ARL) and the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) have announced that registration for the fourth webinar in the ARL-ACRL Institute on Scholarly Communication (ISC) series Strengthening Programs through Collaboration will close on June 9, 2010.
The webinar 'Changing Role of Libraries: Journal Hosting and Support' is scheduled for June 15, 2010, Noon to 1:30 p.m. EDT. It will focus on the issues that arise from libraries that offer publishing services. Scheduled speakers include Caroline Sutton, Founder & Publisher Co-Action Publishing, and Chair, Open Access Scholarly Publishers Association (OASPA); David Solomon, Associate Professor in the Office of Medical Education Research and Development at Michigan State University; Maria Bonn, Associate University Librarian for Publishing, University of Michigan Library; and Catherine Mitchell, Director of Publishing Services, California Digital Library.
The Strengthening Programs through Collaboration webinar series seeks to assist libraries in taking their scholarly communication programmes to the next level. Featured guest speakers will provide practical perspectives on emerging areas in scholarly communication. Throughout this 8-part webinar series, participants will have opportunities to build and develop a network of colleagues and to review how local successes and activities can build towards a comprehensive programme plan.
