Open access publisher BioMed Central, UK, has announced the launch of a new interdisciplinary journal - Cancer & Metabolism. The journal is edited by pioneering clinician scientists Chi Van Dang, University of Pennsylvania, USA, and Michael Pollak, McGill University, Canada.
Chi Van Dang is director of the Abramson Cancer Centre and established the first mechanistic link between the Myc oncogene and cellular energy metabolism. Michael Pollak leads a research group at the Lady Davis Institute, which demonstrated a role for insulin and insulin-like growth factors in cancer biology, research that led to the development of new drugs.
Cancer & Metabolism welcomes studies on molecular biology and genetics; whole-body metabolism, including diabetes and obesity, in relation to cancer; cancer metabolomics and metabolism-based imaging. The journal accepts basic research as well as preclinical and clinical studies of metabolism-related cancer therapies.
