SAGE continues its support for Campaign for Social Sciences initiative with new contribution -

The Academy of Social Sciences marked the one-year anniversary of its Campaign for Social Science with over £100,000 in total donations. The objective of the Campaign is to be raising £250,000 per annum by 2016. Academic and professional publisher SAGE has promoted the Campaign since its launch in January 2011. The publisher’s most recent donation will help fund the new role of a Campaign Officer at the Academy.

The Academy of Social Sciences claims to be the only independent voice representing the interests of social science in the UK. The Campaign for Social Science was established by the Academy to raise the profile and importance of social science for government and amongst the wider public.

SAGE has supported the Academy for a number of years, including sponsorship of events such as their President’s Lunch, and a one-day seminar on the Riots of 2011. The Academy was also a launch partner on the SAGE social science blog network, which currently has over 50 international partners from the social science community worldwide.
