Ingram, a US-based provider of physical and digital services to libraries, is expanding its e-book offering for libraries with an e-book subscription option for popular Sesame Street e-books. The Sesame Street e-bookstore subscription on ipage provides libraries of any size with unlimited access to more than 150 read-along, audio, animated and interactive books through their Ingram library account. The online solution can be used with any browser, and e-books can be read on Mac, PC and the iPad. Libraries set usage rules on each subscription.
The Sesame Street e-book collection for Ingram’s ipage is supported by iPublishCentral, a digital publishing platform developed by Impelsys, a company that helps book publishers deliver their content in all major e-book formats.
Sesame Workshop is the nonprofit educational organisation that reportedly revolutionised children’s television programming with the landmark Sesame Street. The workshop produces local Sesame Street programmes, seen in over 150 countries, and other shows including The Electric Company, to help bridge the literacy gap. Beyond television, the workshop produces content for multiple media platforms on a wide range of issues including literacy, health and military deployment. Initiatives seek to meet specific needs to help young children and families develop critical skills, acquire healthy habits and build emotional strength to prepare them for lifelong learning.
