The Arrhythmia & Electrophysiology Review (AER) journal has announced the appointments of Professor Karl-Heinz Kuck and Professor Angelo Auricchio to the positions of Section Editor - Clinical Electrophysiology & Ablation and Section Editor - Implantable Devices respectively.

These renowned physicians will assist current Editor-in-Chief, Demosthenes Katritsis, in ensuring AER continues to publish review manuscripts of the greatest practical value for the continued education of the cardiology community on heart rhythm disorders. Professors Kuck and Auricchio will be working alongside Dr Andrew Grace, University of Cambridge, UK, who holds the position of Section Editor - Arrhythmia Mechanisms/Basic Science.

Professor Kuck is the current President of the European Heart Rhythm Association (EHRA) and Head of the Second Medical Department (Cardiology) at the St Georg Hospital in Hamburg, Germany. He also leads cardiology at one of Europe's largest and most efficient hospital groups.

Professor Auricchio is the Director of the Clinical Electrophysiology Unit at Fondazione Cardiocentro Ticino, Lugano, Switzerland. He is also the Immediate Past-President of the European Heart Rhythm Association (EHRA). Professor Auricchio is a world authority on the non-pharmacological management of heart failure and use of cardiac resynchronisation therapy (CRT) and implantable devices in arrhythmias.

Produced in partnership with EHRA, Arrhythmia & Electrophysiology Review (AER) is a tri-annual journal aimed at assisting time-pressured electrophysiologists and general cardiologists to stay abreast of key advances and opinion in the arrhythmia and electrophysiology sphere. AER provides comprehensive updates on a range of pertinent issues to support physicians in continuously developing their knowledge and effectiveness in day-to-day clinical practice.
