Elsevier’s Scopus now interoperable with the Lattes Platform -

STM publisher Elsevier, Netherlands, has announced that Scopus, which claims to be the world’s largest abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed research literature, is interoperable with the Lattes Platform, Brazil’s national database for research and science activity, through a newly developed application.

The new Curriculo Lattes Application links Scopus to the Lattes Platform providing easier access to the extensive research author data contained in Curriculo Lattes, a part of the Lattes Platform, which contains the résumés of Brazilian researchers, students and technical professionals.

Developed using the Elsevier Application Framework, the Curriculo Lattes App will be featured on each Scopus Author Details page. Currently 11,000 Brazilian authors in Curriculo Lattes are mapped to matching Scopus author IDs allowing users to access relevant profiles easily between the two databases. More Brazilian researchers will soon be mapped in Scopus and added to the application.

Covering the world's research literature, Scopus is the largest abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed literature. Featuring smart tools to track, analyse and visualise research, Scopus was designed and developed with input from over 500 users and librarians internationally. Its unique database contains abstracts and references from nearly 19,500 peer-reviewed journals from more than 5,000 publishers worldwide, ensuring broad interdisciplinary coverage.
