Allen Press' annual Emerging Trends in Scholarly Publishing Seminar titled Life in the Fast Lane scheduled for April 16 -

Publishing services provider Allen Press, Inc., US, will present its annual Emerging Trends in Scholarly Publishing™ Seminar titled Life in the Fast Lane on April 16, 2015, at the Embassy Suites DC Convention Center.

Leaders in the field of scholarly and electronic publishing will share their expertise, experience, and analysis on a variety of topics ranging from access to research, developments in digital publishing, collaboration, and sustainability of scholarly publishing.

Rapid developments in the world of digital publishing are stirring the imagination of those who can see the possibilities and opportunities. Keynote speaker Joe Wikert will share his vision of what we might see through our windshield as we peer into the future.

In a session titled 'Engineering the Interchange of Ideas,' Jason Karl of JournalMap, Alberto Pepe of Authorea, and Adam Etkin of Peer Review Evaluation will present information behind the development of their respective organisations that have helped to create bridges and interchanges for many contributors, researchers, authors, and editors. Amy Brand of Digital Science will also present information about a new contributor taxonomy currently in development.

The day will wrap up with a final session titled 'Innovative Infrastructure for the Sustainability of Scholarly Communication,' presented by Rebecca Kennison of the Open Access Network. This session will cover creative solutions for sustaining and funding long-term access to scholarly content and its delivery in various forms.

Roundtable discussions, a popular and regular feature of the seminar, will create an opportunity for in-depth conversation with colleagues in an informal setting. More information – including additional speaker and roundtable topic announcements – will be available at http://allenpress.com/events/2015seminar/program in the coming weeks.
