Confederation of Open Access Repositories launches COAR Repository Observatory -

The Confederation of Open Access Repositories has launched the new COAR Task Force 'Repository Observatory' (RO) on the COAR website.

The aim of this project will be the identification of trends and future scenarios in the context of the use of repositories in research and education as well as to help Open Access (OA) repositories to anticipate and respond to the constant state of rapid evolution. Besides interviews with representatives of the OA Repositories Community, new projects and a series of COAR members and partner institutions profiles will be presented. The "readings" section will feature interesting articles and reports with a visionary and strategic focus.

COAR is a fast growing association of repository initiatives launched in October 2009, uniting and representing 90 institutions worldwide (Europe, Latin America, Asia, and North America). Its mission is to enhance greater visibility and application of research outputs through global networks of Open Access digital repositories.
