'Genome Biology' calls for papers for special issue on plant genomics -

Genome Biology, one of BioMed Central's flagship journals, has announced that it is now accepting research, method and software manuscript submissions that will be considered for publication in a special issue on plant genomics, planned for early summer 2013.

Following the journal's special issue on epigenomics in 2012, it is turning its attention to plant genomics for a special issue in 2013. High-throughput technologies have traditionally been more successful in elucidating the regulation of animal genomes rather than plants. However, recent research has been making significant inroads into the many complexities of regulation within plant genomes. It is believed that a special issue on this topic in 2013 will, therefore, make a timely contribution to the genomics field.

The journal will consider manuscripts describing insights into, or developing methods for studying, all aspects of plant genomics, including genome sequencing and assembly, crop breeding, biofuel production, plant responses to pathogens, hormone regulation, genome evolution, non-model organisms and non-coding RNAs. Manuscripts will be welcome irrespective of the organism(s) or cell type(s) studied. A series of commissioned, topical reviews and opinions, written by leaders in the field, will also be published in the special issue.

The deadline for submissions is February 28, 2013. To submit the manuscript, use the online submission system and indicate in the covering letter that you would like the article to be considered for the plant genomics special issue.
