Dr. Linda Snetselaar named Editor-In-Chief of the Journal of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics -

The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics has announced that, effective June 1, University of Iowa epidemiology professor and registered dietitian Dr. Linda Snetselaar will become the editor-in-chief of the Journal of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Snetselaar is also the endowed chair and associate head for admissions and curriculum at the university. She will serve as the sixth editor-in-chief in the Journal's 88-year history.

Snetselaar's 40-year career has been dedicated to higher learning and research fields, most notably serving as principal and co-principal investigator in the Lipid Research Clinic and other National Institutes of Health studies. As the director of the nutrition center in Iowa, Snetselaar's projects guide future health professionals, incorporate wellness in worksites and counsel parents and teens.

As the journal's editor-in-chief, Snetselaar will oversee the research section, along with the Journal's board of editors and reviewers. She will follow the current Editor-in-Chief, registered dietitian Dr. Linda Van Horn, whose 10-year tenure ends on May 31.

The Journal of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics is the premier source for the practice and science of food, nutrition and dietetics. The monthly, peer-reviewed journal presents original articles prepared by scholars and practitioners and claims to be the most widely read professional publication in the field. The Journal focuses on advancing professional knowledge across the range of research and practice issues such as: nutritional science, medical nutrition therapy, public health nutrition, food science and biotechnology, foodservice systems, leadership and management and dietetics education.
