NPG and Nanjing Agricultural University announce 2014 launch of OA journal Horticulture Research -

Scientific publisher Nature Publishing Group and Nanjing Agricultural University have announced the 2014 launch of open access journal Horticulture Research. The journal will launch on nature.com in January 2014, and will begin accepting submissions later in 2013. The new partnership was announced at the launch of the Macmillan Science & Education office in Shanghai at an event at the Shanghai Science Hall.

Horticulture Research will publish original research articles and reviews and mini-reviews on novel discoveries focusing on all major horticultural crops, including fruits, vegetables, ornamental trees and flowers, herbs, and tea trees, both in pre-harvest and post-harvest stages. The journal will primarily focus on basic and fundamental research with broad international and disciplinary interests. Its scope will cover genetics, breeding, '-omics' and evolution, origination and domestication horticultural crops, biotechnology, biochemistry, physiology, cellular and molecular biology, and environmental biology including interactions with other organisms.

Horticulture Research will offer authors a choice of CreativeCommons licenses, including Creative Commons Attribution (CCBY). An article processing charge will be levied on acceptance. All published articles will be freely accessible to a global audience immediately on publication.

The journal is led by Editor-in-Chief Dr Zong-Ming (Max) Cheng, Joint Professor in the College of Horticulture at Nanjing Agricultural University and in the Department of Plant Sciences at the University of Tennessee. It is the eighth journal to be published by NPG in collaboration with partners in China, and its 16th in the Asia-Pacific region.
