Academic publisher SAGE has announced the three recipients of the co-sponsored Academic and Research Libraries Section (ARL) attendance grant for the annual IFLA World Library and Information Congress (IFLA WLIC).
Joseph A. Semugabi, Librarian at the Law Development Centre, Uganda; Sasekea Harris, Academic Librarian at the University of the West Indies; and Aditya Nugara, Head of Library at Petra Christian University, Indonesia, were all selected for their creative and insightful take on how the conference will impact their professional development.
Each travel grant supports a librarian or information professional with a free place at the IFLA WLIC, taking place this year in Singapore from August 17 - 23. Each winner will also have their congress experience published as part of The Academic and Research Libraries Section (ARL) blog, to be published three months after the conference.
A discussion with the award winners is being held at IFLA WLIC on August 20 from 12:45-13:45 in the Expo Pavilion, Exhibition Hall.
SAGE will be taking part in two panel discussions at IFLA WLIC. Consortia/Library Sales& Marketing Director Rosalia Garcia will be presenting as part of the panel discussion on the future of the library, and Group Marketing Manager Nell McCreadie will be presenting the findings of SAGE's research study into library value in the developing world. In addition SAGE will be running a "How to Get Published" panel session.
