The Surgery Journal (TSJ), launched in May 2015, has announced a new, simplified submission policy for authors: 'Submit How You Want.'
As a reflection of TSJ's unique approach to questioning and improving established publishing models, authors who choose to submit their work to the journal will not be required to format manuscripts before submission. As long as the paper is legible and the file is able to be opened on standard computers, the review process shall begin immediately.
Having already introduced a 'Pay What You Want' (PWYW) pricing model at launch, allowing authors of accepted manuscripts to set a price they feel is most suitable to cover the Article Publication Charges (APC), The Surgery Journal has named this new author initiative 'Submit How You Want.' Papers in any format (including those formatted according to other journal requirements) will be entered into peer review upon submission, with high resolution images to be submitted as the paper nears acceptance.
The Surgery Journal (TSJ) is a unique, all-encompassing, open access journal for surgeons and trainee surgeons of all disciplines, as well as other medical professionals engaged in the support and surgical treatment of patients. Available online only, it will publish original articles, reviews, and case reports. Submissions to the journal have already exceeded expectations and the first papers will be published online (Open Access), before the end of summer 2015.
TSJ is projected as an essential resource for surgeons of every specialty seeking diversified insights into surgery, pre- and post-operative care, emerging operative equipment and techniques, and the issues facing surgical practice.
