Cengage Learning appoints industry leaders to head company’s strategic communications and marketing activities -

Cengage Learning has announced the appointment of two industry leaders to head the company's strategic communications and marketing activities. Sandi Kirshner has taken on the newly created role of Chief Communications Officer, while Sharon Loeb will serve as Chief Marketing Officer. The announcement was made by Cengage Learning CEO Michael Hansen.

In her new role as Chief Communications Officer, Sandi Kirshner will be responsible for all integrated company communications and branding, reporting to Michael Hansen. Sandi most recently served as the company's Chief Marketing Officer and has deep experience developing and implementing branding, messaging and campaigns that produce maximum impact while building relationships with key stakeholders – including students, faculty, authors and thought leaders. Sandi joined Cengage Learning from Pearson, where she held several senior leadership roles. She will continue to serve on the Executive Team.

As Chief Marketing Officer, Sharon Loeb will also serve on the Executive Team, reporting to Kevin Stone, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer. Sharon has nearly 20 years of experience in the industry leading teams with a highly integrated, customer-centric and data-driven approach. Most recently she served as the head of McGraw-Hill's Higher Education Marketing group. Prior to that, Sharon was Senior Director of Strategic Marketing for McGraw-Hill Higher Education, where she led the marketing communications across several business units.
