The Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) and STM publisher Elsevier Inc. have announced a new app that helps to share cutting-edge research on women's health, obstetric, and neonatal nursing. The AWHONN Journals app brings these two leading nursing journals onto mobile and tablet devices, along with patient education materials.
The Journal of Obstetric, Gynecologic, & Neonatal Nursing (JOGNN) is a premier source for healthcare professionals who follow clinical scholarship that advances the healthcare of women and newborns. With a focus on nurse-led research, JOGNN publishes peer-reviewed articles about practice, policies, and trends in the care of women, childbearing families, and newborns.
Nursing for Women's Health (NWH) publishes articles on the application of the latest research into practice regarding women's health, newborn care, and professional nursing. Topics covered in NWH include innovations and trends within clinical nursing, management of individual patients and patient populations, and the effect of healthcare systems and legislative/regulatory actions on patient care issues and professional practice.
The app provides access to the full archive of issues for each journal. AWHONN members and journal subscribers can receive alerts for online early articles and new issues. Users can customize the app with article enhancements, including notes, highlighting, personalized reading lists, and the ability to save articles for offline reading.
Additionally, clinicians can access patient education resources from AWHONN's consumer magazine, Healthy Mom&Baby, as well as the AWHONN Connections blog via links from the home screen. The free AWHONN Journals app is available in the Apple iTunes and Google Play stores.
