Several papers and posters on library value assessment were presented at the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) Conference in Indianapolis this spring, as noted in the ACRL Value of Academic Libraries blog.
In 'Demonstrating Value through Assessment and Surveys,' Terri Fishel discusses a poster about data collected from more than 80,000 faculty, staff, and students over eight years by the Measuring Information Services Outcomes (MISO) survey. MISO is a web-based survey that measures frequency and value of use for both library and IT services.
Melissa Bowles-Terry highlights three papers in 'More Value Research from the 2013 ACRL Conference.' These include: "Academic and Public Library Collaboration: Increasing Value by Sharing Space, Collections, and Services," by Daniel Overfield and Coleen Roy; "Answering 'How' and 'Why' Questions of Library Impact on Undergraduate Student Learning," by Derek Rodriguez; and "Choosing and Using Assessment Management Systems: What Librarians Need to Know," by Megan Oakleaf, Jackie Belanger, and Carlie Graham.
