EBSCO Information Services (EBSCO) has announced that Taipei American School, a secondary school in Taiwan, has implemented EBSCO Discovery Service™ (EDS) to improve the student experience and provide innovative access to and discovery of quality scholarly information. The addition of EDS to the library collection at Taipei American School aligns with their mission to be an innovative 21st century learning community.
Taipei American School had used a federated search product but curriculum changes meant that students were conducting more college-level research so the demands for academic content, indexes, and more sophisticated tools for analyzing bodies of knowledge grew. Students had also become more savvy in their use of all kinds of technologies, including database and internet searching. It was clear that in order to continue to meet the secondary school students' information needs, the library needed to add a discovery layer to their research experience.
EBSCO Discovery Service creates a unified, customised index of an institution's information resources, and an easy, yet powerful means of accessing all of that content from a single search box.
