Elsevier and IEAGHG announce publication of a seminal special issue of the International Journal of Greenhouse Gas Control -

STM publisher Elsevier and IEA Greenhouse Gas R&D Programme (IEAGHG) announce the publication of a seminal special issue of the International Journal of Greenhouse Gas Control.

The special issue marks the 10th year anniversary of the publication of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Special Report on CO2 Capture and Storage (SRCCS), and outlines the significant progress made in this field in the last 10 years.

The issue indicates that the science and the technologies supporting CO2 Capture and Storage (CCS) as a climate change mitigation tool have experienced a great advance, enabling more accurate estimations of the impacts, risks and cost associated with large CCS projects. The reviews presented in the issue suggest that no longer should CCS be regarded merely as a bridging technology, but rather that capture and geological storage of CO2 is truly ready for large scale deployment, and will be an important tool for combatting climate change. This is a timely discussion ahead of the forthcoming 2015 Paris Climate Conference (COP-21) , December 7-8, 2015.

The 17 review articles included in this issue will be freely available to read on ScienceDirect until December 31.
