Harvard Library selects Ex Libris Primo for Harvard University electronic collections -

Library automation solutions provider Ex Libris Group has announced that the Harvard Library has decided to offer the Ex Libris Primo® discovery and delivery system as a single search interface for Harvard University's vast local and electronic collections.

The Library is adding Primo to a suite of Ex Libris solutions consisting of the Aleph® integrated library system, Primo Central Index of scholarly resources, SFX OpenURL link resolver, MetaLib gateway and metasearch solution, and bX article recommender.

Among the factors that led to the selection of Primo were its seamless integration with the Library's Aleph system, enabling users to access fulfillment services such as loans and hold requests directly from the Primo interface; the capabilities that Primo offers for harvesting and normalising complex metadata; and the ongoing commitment of Ex Libris to include open-access collections, institutional repositories, and research data in the Primo Central Index.
