The American Psychological Association (APA) has announced the appointment of Mary Sauer-Games to the position of Senior Director, PsycINFO. In her new role, Mary will manage the development and growth of the full suite of APA research databases, while expanding their coverage and uncovering new product opportunities.
In addition, she will be responsible for the ongoing development of APA PsycNET, APA's award-winning search platform, looking for new ways of strengthening the connections for students, researchers and psychologists between the questions that they need to answer and the most relevant information available to meet that need.
Mary joined APA on March 10th, bringing over 20 years of experience in publishing, strategic planning, marketing and sales to the APA. In her most recent assignment at ProQuest, she was vice-president of STM, humanities and dissertations publishing after starting her tenure there in 2002 as Director, Chadwyck-Healey North American Publishing. Her many achievements include the development of award-winning, next-generation scholarly research databases that have set new industry standards for quality and responsiveness.
