Library resources provider EBSCO Information Services (EBSCO) has announced that top humanities and social sciences journals via Rivisteweb are now searchable via EBSCO Discovery Service™ (EDS). Il Mulino, an academic publisher in Italy, offers the prominent journals for both Carocci Editore and Il Mulino via its online portal Rivisteweb. EBSCO Discovery Service users are now able to search the Rivisteweb metadata including 45,000 articles from over 80 journals.
Rivisteweb journals represent the most authoritative Italian collection of journals in humanities and social sciences. The collection provides scholarly materials to researchers in the areas of art, culture, economics, history, law, literary criticism, media, philosophy, psychology, and sociology.
The collaboration between Rivisteweb and EBSCO enables EDS users to search the contents of Rivisteweb in EDS and then subscribers of il Mulino are then able to link over to the full text. This agreement will also enable the Rivisteweb journals to extend their global reach, and enhance their discoverability, via the rich metadata and full text searching in EBSCO Discovery Service.
Rivisteweb is part of a growing list of publishers and other content partners that are taking part in EDS to bring more visibility to their content. Partners include the world's largest scholarly journal & book publishers including Elsevier, Wiley Blackwell, Springer Science & Business Media, Taylor & Francis Informa, Sage Publications, Nature Publishing, IEEE, ACM and thousands of others. Partners also include content providers, such as LexisNexis, Thomson Reuters (Web of Science), JSTOR, ARTstor, Credo Reference, Encyclopedia Britannica, World Book, ABC-CLIO, The HathiTrust and many others.
EBSCO Discovery Service creates a unified, customized index of an institution's information resources, and an easy, yet powerful means of accessing all of that content from a single search box.
