The Bibliothèque de la Sorbonne selects EBSCO Discovery Service via Encore Duet -

Library resources provider EBSCO Information Services (EBSCO) has announced that Bibliothèque de la Sorbonne, administratively attached to the Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, one of the most prestigious universities in France, has selected EBSCO Discovery Service™ (EDS) via Innovative's Encore Duet as its discovery platform. The Bibliothèque de la Sorbonne has been an Innovative customer since 2001 as well as an EBSCO customer for about the same time, so the partnership between EDS and Innovative made EDS via Encore Duet the perfect solution.

The Bibliothèque de la Sorbonne, which is a very well known French inter-university library, reopened in its historical building after three years of renovation works. With over two million books, the library of Sorbonne is one of the richest French academic libraries for its collections on humanities.

The library was looking for a discovery solution that would fit the needs of its public, mainly researchers. Accessing EDS via Encore Duet provided a solution with an interface they knew well and a comprehensive collection of content they required. The library was interested with the EDS via Encore Duet solution and it was one of the major factors when choosing Encore Duet as its discovery solution.

EBSCO and Innovative came together to develop solutions that leverage their strengths and, most importantly, serve the needs of their customers.

EBSCO Discovery Service creates a unified, customised index of an institution's information resources, and an easy, yet powerful means of accessing all of that content from a single search box-searching made even more powerful because of the quality of metadata and depth and breadth of coverage.
