HighWire Press appoints John Corkery and Andy Gardner as Senior Sales Directors -

HighWire Press, Inc., the technology platform and strategic partner to influential scholarly publishers and societies, has announced the appointment of John Corkery and Andy Gardner in the roles of Senior Sales Directors for North America reporting in to Wendy Newsham, VP North American Sales.

For the past seven years, John has been helping clients develop their publishing businesses through right-sized technology solutions. As a consultant, he has participated in digital transition and selection projects involving content management systems, content automation, online hosting, UX/UI design and discovery. Corkery comes to HighWire with over 20 years' of publishing and technology experience. John started as an entrepreneur in digital pre-media technology during the dot-com days working with online clients such as National Geographic, Staples, LL Bean, Phillips Medical, and others. He later moved into publishing services, data conversion, and content systems working with some of the world's largest publishers in the higher education, scholarly and professional markets. John serves on the SSP New England Regional Event Group, and the National Development Committee. He also serves on the Harvard University Digital Publishing Collaborative planning committee.

Andy has worked in publishing for over ten years and has been involved in many aspects of the publishing process - from paid content development and medical education for pharmaceutical companies to corporate, academic, and government library sales and licensing of STM content and databases. Most recently Andy worked with SAGE Publications as a Senior Library Sales Manager and prior to that, he had a successful six years at Springer Nature as a Licensing Manager. His introduction to publishing came in 2007 with MedReviews, a medical communications company where he managed content development for cardiology and neurology review journals.
