PennWell Corporation, a global business-to-business media and information company, has named John Lewis as Editor-in-Chief of Vision Systems Design after Andy Wilson, who for more than 30 years has been an industry authority and advocate, has announced that he is moving on from PennWell.
John Lewis has technical, industry, and journalistic qualifications, most recently with more than 13 years of progressive content development experience working at Cognex Corporation. Prior to Cognex where his articles on machine vision were published in dozens of trade journals, Lewis was a technical editor for Design News, the world's leading engineering magazine, covering automation, machine vision, and other engineering topics since 1996.
In 1982, Wilson was instrumental in launching Electronic Imaging magazine, a publication later purchased by PennWell Corporation. Then in 1996, Wilson helped found the Vision Systems Design magazine, and since then, has written thousands of articles on image processing, machine vision, and computer science.
Published since 1996, Vision Systems Design is a global resource for engineers, engineering managers and systems integrators that provides comprehensive global coverage of vision systems technologies, applications, and markets. Vision Systems Design's magazine, website (www.vision-systems.com), email newsletters and webcasts report on and analyse the latest technology and business developments and trends in the worldwide machine vision and image processing industry.
