First Databank Europe (FDB), part of the Hearst Health network and one of the leading providers of clinical drug knowledge that assists to improve medication-related decisions and patient outcomes, has launched a web API version of solution FDB Multilex. The web API delivers FDB Multilex through high performing web services that can be easily integrated into today's healthcare applications from client-server to mobile applications. The solution means that healthcare providers will now be able to implement and use the leading drug knowledge with minimal IT resource required to integrate the solution.
The launch supports NHS England's directive as part of the interoperability charter for all hospitals to be paperless at the point of care by 2020.
The new solution can be deployed to client-server and web-based applications and it also means that mobile application developers can now more easily develop native mobile apps to support the growing number of patient encounters that will be conducted over smart devices.
It will provide customers with the functionality available in other integration options including; drug-drug interactions, duplicate therapy, duplicate ingredient and duplicate drug checking, sensitivity checking, patient specific contraindications, precautions and warnings.
