Dr Dyno Keatinge appointed Chair of CABI Horticulture Editorial Board -

Scientific publisher CABI has announced the appointment of Dr Dyno Keatinge as Chair of its Editorial Advisory Board for Horticulture. Dr Keatinge brings 43 years of crop agronomy experience to the post, having previously held the position of Director General of AVRDC (the World Vegetable Center) and Chair of AIRCA (the Association of International Research and Development Centers for Agriculture).

An estimated global population of nine billion by 2050 means that feeding the world has become an increasingly important issue. Global leaders have identified food and nutrition security as key elements of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) – a set of goals that will help shape global policies for the next 15 years. The science of horticulture has an important role to play in the sustainable production and supply of crops to combat malnutrition and improve health and wellbeing.

Growing horticultural produce well requires extensive and up-to-date scientific knowledge. Dr Keatinge will advise on the direction of existing and future CABI products in the field of horticulture, like CABI's new Horticultural Science internet resource, the Horticulture Compendium and new books.

Launched in June 2016, Horticultural Science covers tropical, subtropical and temperate crops and regions. This internet resource was built on CABI's 85 years of experience in agricultural publishing, including abstracts, full text journals and conference proceedings, plus news and reviews covering all aspects of horticultural science and technology. With an open-access news component, Horticultural Science is an invaluable product for researchers, scientists, students and all those who need to keep up-to-date with current research and trends in this field.
